Alright.
This family.
This is one of my favorite families on earth. Vanessa and Derek are dear friends of ours from college, and we all kind of grew up in the same neck of the woods in Orange County. This session is one of my best all year. From the beautiful fall light to the obvious best-friendship between these three, it really couldn’t have been better. That sweet little Sadie is cute enough to munch, too. She was a pro at “if you’re happy and you know it,” which is definitely one I need to teach E (who hates being photographed, not unlike her mama)! We shot these at Riley Wilderness Park in Coto de Caza, CA. It happened to be the same night as homecoming, so only about a hundred high school kids joined us, but I’m pretty sure we didn’t get a single one in a photo, magically. And without further adieu…
All of these photos were shot on Kodak Portra 400 film on my Mamiya 645. If you’d like to make some portraits of your family, send me a note by clicking HERE — but do it quick, because I’ll be taking a little hiatus to have my baby girl in January. I’m starting up again in early spring and booking for the first week of March, but I still have a couple of spots open before the end of 2015!
